If you reached this page (to find out more about refilling your printer supplies), chances are you have acknowledged a somewhat painful truth. The cost of printing (i.e. cost of cartridge replacement) far outweighs the cost of your printer. We have solutions that will interest you; but first, who are we? Alas, we are not the darlings of printer manufacturers - but entrenched power will always frown on those who may threaten the entrenchment. Read on to find out more...

Inkjet-Cartridges-Refills is a Portland, Oregon based company who began the fight against high printing costs in 1982, starting with dot matrix cartridge re-inking systems and later with laser and jet printers support products. (If you are also interested in our dot matrix products or brands other than HP, please scroll down to the bottom of this page for a listing of applicable links).

Our first JetMaster jet printer refill kit was introduced in 1989, and we now serve a combined customer base of over one million customers worldwide. All our JetMaster Refill Kits are designed and manufactured in Oregon and marketed worldwide from our center. From the beginning, we have been competitive and yet still constantly research and improve methods and procedures to make refilling fun (yes) and reduce your printing costs.

The Right Ink for the Right Printer

Our inks accurately mirror the chemical, physical and emulsion characteristics of the ink specific to your printer.

This is very important because what blood is to man, ink is to printer. And just as there are different blood types, so there are different types of jet printer inks. This is NOT our choice, but rather a consequence of the printer manufacturers' strategy.

As any jet printer user will have quickly realized, the manufacturers' strategy is to sell printers cheaply and supplies expensively. To be expensive, supplies must be as different from each other as possible. Jet inks differ in viscosity, emulsion characteristics, color tone and hue, temperature behavior, reactivity with paper fibers, etc. To have the right ink for the right printer is an indispensable condition to provide a quality product. We meet that condition.

To Refill or Not to Refill - This is the Question

The first question many customers ask is "Is it easy to refill a cartridge?"

The answer is 'yes'. We are also aware that a simple 'yes', however true it may be, does not make you completely comfortable. Very few manufacturers do not claim that their product is 'easy to use'. And many of us will have spent at least one Christmas Eve laboring over the frustrating assembly of some toy, bicycle or equivalent on whose box was written the alluring sentence "easy assembly".

To clear your concerns and soothe your apprehension, consider the following:

  • There are tens of millions of jet printers in use every day worldwide. Equally, there are hundreds of thousands of people who refill their own jet cartridges. Note that a cartridge that appears expensive in the US is often 3 or more times as expensive in other countries. Therefore, where refilling is an option for you, it is a must for many.
  • As with most everything we do or need to do, some acquired experience makes the job easier. With jet cartridge refilling, it is a matter of getting the knack of it. And it is a knack worth getting. Jet printing is here to stay and cartridges will not get cheaper. As Shakespeare said, "Experience is with industry achieved, and perfected by the swift course of time" ("Two gentlemen from Verona)". It's experience worth acquiring. Who knows? One day, as many of our customers have done, you may decide to take up cartridge refilling as a business venture, part or full time.
  • Think of a jet cartridge as a fountain pen of old. You would not dispose of the fountain pen when the ink ran out. You would refill it. The principle is identical, the practice similar.
  • Our Refill kits contain everything you need to refill your cartridge(s). The number of refills each kit will provide (listed in the column adjacent to the refill kit model #) is conservative.
  • Our documentation is color-graphic-clear, readable and complete. We practice our preaching. All instruction booklets included with the kits are printed ALWAYS with re-charged cartridges.
  • Recognizing that all minds are different and that a voice may help when a book may not, we offer toll free technical support at 1-800-538-4657.
  • Cartridge re-manufacturing and refilling is an industry. "Re-manufacturing" is just refilling on an industrial scale.
  • You may wish to read some of the many unsolicited comments we receive from our customers. Users would not write if they did not enjoy the product they use.
  • Even if you were awash in cash and cartridge costs were not an issue, think of the environment. One cartridge recharged is one less cartridge in a landfill, less leftover ink finding its way into a water table, less paper used to package the box.

Inkjet-Cartridges-Refills also sells brand new inkjet cartridges, either OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or compatibles. Compatible cartridges are of the same quality and ink formula as their corresponding OEM cartridges, but are much less expensive because you don't end up paying extra for the "name brand." You can save up to 71% over the manufacturer’s original price.
